Knitting between Material and Immaterial
Client:
Year:
Following an exploratory clay experiment, I found that the medium of my practice began to transcend traditional definitions of knitting, prompting me to examine materials beyond just yarn and needle, extending also into other mediums, then the immaterial realm.
Therefore, by transferring the physical works I have knitted into an immaterial digital format, I began to create a continuous loop between the material and immaterial realms. This transformation creates a space where the physicality of traditional craft is reinterpreted and preserved within the context of digital technology. It is not merely a shift from one medium to another but an active dialogue that bridges multiple dimensions—past and present, ancient and contemporary, traditional and modern.
